Yesterday was my birthday and the Princess told Jeff I needed a cake for my birthday. I can’t say I minded the cake thing, even though I ate my way through 10 states. I told Jeff just pull his mom’s Hot Milk Cake Recipe and make that it is easy and is a really good pound cake.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Milk
- 4 Eggs
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
Preheat oven to 325F.
Combine butter and milk in a saucepan. Bring to boiling and immediately remove from DO NOT BOIL. Beat eggs. Add sugar. Add vanilla. Add flour and salt. Beat until smooth. Gradually add milk and butter. Beat well. Add baking powder. Beat. Pour into greased and flowered tube/bundt pan. Bake one hour. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
Halve recipe and bake in 8″x8″ for 30 minutes.
