Okay now that I told my wonderful husband not to read this post it is time to explain what I am doing for him.

Book Binding 101: Poster Board Book

I had this idea at Christmas but saved it for Father’s Day. I wanted Jillian to make him a book, telling him “Why I Love My Daddy…” Jillian really wanted to paint the book, I have been telling her all week that we would paint. Today she asked Jeff to paint and almost blew our surprise. So I had to let her paint today, otherwise she would be asking all weekend. I made the book out of 5 sheets of posterboard 9 1/2″ wide and 22″ long and had Jillian tell me 11 things she loves about her daddy. I wrote each of the 11 things on a separate page and had her illustrate each page.

I drew three lines for writing Jillian’s story on I used the top two for some of the longer ones.

Jillian coloring some of her pages. I went though and outlined all of her pencil drawing with a Sharpie. I also erased all of the pencil lines throughout the book with a Gum Eraser (less mess and it doesn’t damage the paper.) The outside of the book was lettered by me and the story lettering was also done by me.

I think Jeff will really like this and I will try to scan the book in so everyone can see what a great job Jillian did, I think her daddy is going to love it!
