I have really wanted to branch out with my art lately I have always wanted to try Encaustic Painting (hot wax painting). A couple weeks ago I came across a tip on my Facebook Newsfeed put crayons in a hot glue gun to melt colored wax. This week I finally decided to try the melting wax with a hot glue gun. I am not going to lie it is fun and I was able to get quite a bit of detail to the painting.
I started with the leaves (you can see the glue gun in the background).
I added a tad more shadow on the leaves. I then did the brown center and the shadow for the leaves.
I added the yellow on the leaves
This is really where is started coming together by adding the white for the highlights.
