The Moldy Floor

Well the title says it all, we have mold and quite a bit of mold.  It started with the one spot, it was raining I didn’t go under the house to see how bad it was because the thought of mold everywhere made me cringe.  I started organizing a lot I went through and organized every single art and craft supply I own.  This morning I had one last box that was shoved under one of the end tables, I pulled it out and it was damp.  I grabbed the rain boots, flash light and a screwdriver and headed for the crawl space.

Look at the lovely mold

If you are not sure what this is it is mold and some wet rot ( a Preservationists nightmare).

Hoping we don need new floor joists.

After seeing this we called the insurance adjuster and now it is officially out of our hands for now.  We are waiting to see if it is in the walls something we will know tomorrow after the adjuster comes.  I mean it started with the moving of furniture so we could open the sliding doors (which need to be replaced too).  I am trying to stay positive but I am truly concerned I have been getting more frequent headaches recently and I know now that it is from the mold.  I am thankful it is just in the living room area of the house and not the bedrooms.  I keep telling my self at least we found it but that is little consolation right now.  I will try to keep everyone posted on what is happening keep your fingers crossed insurance will take care of most of it and I will have my living room (and crafting area) back very soon.
