Back to Basics Due to Injury

Last week I twist my knee in a late night jaunt to Booga’s Room, a metal train, losing my balance, hitting his bed on the way down to the floor.  This made for a very unproductive week, unproductive in the sense I could not do anything I wanted to do that involved walking.  I was confined to the couch with my leg up, a sketchbook and some Micron Pens.  I decided I wanted to start some pen and ink drawings for the Digi Shoppe.  When I was in High School I had knee surgery and was laid up for almost a month, I sketched my neighbors daisies and my mom oriental prints.

I did that this past week and created some new digis a Gerbera Daisy and some digis inspired by Japanese Wood Block Prints as well as some other items.  I had some really great ideas (painkillers will do that) now I just need time to create the items because I did jot them all down.

What we made in Girl Scouts last Tuesday

What we made in Girl Scouts last Tuesday – I had planned on doing a How-to last week but sitting up right at the computer was a little too much.  I still plan on doing a how-to because it is a really cute project.

So there you have it I went back to pen and ink drawing with my digis and I am really liking the look.  When I redid the Digi Shoppe look last year this was one of the reasons I wanted to draw more pen and ink style stamps opposed to the cartoon style stamps.  I love my cartoon style stamps but I love being able to pull out the pens and get to work.
