10 Long Weeks…

This quarter made me question my sanity on more than one occasion.  I thought Business Law, Accounting and Finance were difficult nothing prepared me for Fundamentals of Communication and Consumer Behavior.  These two classes by far were the hardest for me not because of what I was learning but because I didn’t get a break.  I deal with consumer behaviors and communication daily the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was write about it.
I stopped exercising because these courses were all encompassing.  This led to my headaches making a reappearance, so much so one of my co-workers voiced concern.  Let me talk about weight, a sore subject for me, my weight hit 182 pounds three weeks ago.  The hard of Jillian Michaels handing me my ass for 23 days – I didn’t make it 30.  All that hard work gone, so there I was depressed getting ready for work with my massive headache.  I get to work and a guest comes up she was in workout clothes and asked me if I was feeling okay.  I replied yes, I had a slight headache.  The woman asked me if I exercised at all.  I replied not recently.  She recommended I start running.  I laughed and said I don’t run.  The lady replied neither did I until February, when I decided to take control of my life and download the Couch to 5K application, been doing it ever since and I started exercising.  I have lost 50 pounds since February and I feel great.  I didn’t think much about it, I mean when do I time to run.  That night one of my oldest friends posted that her daughter was diagnosed with cancer and posted a link to sign up to run (anywhere in the world) to show support.  I downloaded the Couch to 5K app and went for a run.  Am I a fast runner, no snails pass me but I am doing it.
I mentioned to one of my co-workers I started running.  He pointed out that I still needed cardiovascular/strength training in my life.  With that I decided to once again have Jillian Michaels kick my ass.
Despite the fact I have 2 final projects due next week have have managed to find time for me and exercise.  It isn’t fun, running has been enjoyable expect for the downpour I was caught in.  My headaches have gone away which is a huge bonus.  I also have a wonderful goal – a new pair of shoes oh they are beautiful.  Here is hoping I can stay on this bandwagon for a long time.
